Thank you for attending Wild Deadwood Reads! We’re pleased to have you with us for our second fabulous year in Deadwood.

Are you ready to reserve your seats at the most Legendary events of the year? Working with our generous authors and sponsors to keep your ticket prices low, we’ve created some truly great adventures for you to enjoy. Bring your friends and family, or make new friends on these Wild adventures. You’ll get to know your favorite authors better, and meet new authors as you experience Wild Deadwood Reads Extra Events.

We have many fun outings planned for the weekend, and we hope you’ll be with us right from the start on Thursday evening. The link for our amazing hotel rates is at the bottom of this page.

We’ve reserved the 13,000 square foot Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center for the 2018 signing. It’s on the second floor above the Non-Smoking casino and is accessible by escalator, elevator, and stairs. There’s lots of room for us at this lovely venue! Again this year, there are no refunds if you have to cancel, sorry.

******PRE-REGISTRATION IS CLOSED****** But you can still attend our Book Signing and Basket Raffle! Just head to the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel Saturday, June 9 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM and you’ll find us right above the casino in the Event Center. Our friendly registration volunteers will direct you to our 70+ authors, our exciting vendors, and the Basket Raffle which supports the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary. We’re excited to welcome you to our event!

FIRST STEP: You must be registered as a reader to attend the Book Signing and any other events you choose to attend. Registration is only $10, and you receive three awesome gifts:

Reader Registration for Book Signing on Saturday, June 9 from 10 AM – 2 PM in the Event Center of our Hotel

With your Reader Registration, you’ll receive:

  • a specially-colored neck wallet and name tag granting you access to the Book Signing and the other events you register for
  • a collectible full-color Memory Book filled will the photos of all the signing authors with a spot where each author can autograph your book for you
  • a premium bag that you can fill with books and swag

Here’s your chance to sit down to a feast and enjoy talking to your favorite authors, or meeting new authors and friends. We hope you’ll come hungry!

  • Buffet breakfast will be enjoyed at round tables at the far end of the Book Signing room

Basket Raffle Supporting Local Non-profit Organization from 9 AM – 1:30 PM Saturday, June 9th during the Book Signing in the Event Center of our Hotel

  • Just to the right of the escalator/elevator/stairs
  • Fabulous baskets donated by the Authors, Cover Models, Vendors, and Sponsors
  • 1:30 PM gather in the Event Center by the baskets to hear the winning ticket numbers read off, then claim your prizes

  • Cost: Pre-sale Bonus – $10 for 30 tickets (at the door, ticket prices will be $10 for 20 tickets)

****SOLD OUT**** PBR Rodeo Behind the Chutes VIP Package from 4:30 PM – Way Past Your Bedtime Saturday, June 9th

  • This exclusive event, just for Wild Deadwood Reads, starts at the front door of our hotel for where quick bus ride takes us to the Rodeo Grounds (Days of ’76 Rodeo Grounds right in Deadwood)
  • We’ll be wowed and star-struck by this Behind the Chutes VIP Package:
    • Meet-and-greet with PBR bull riders, announcers, stock contractors, and bullfighters
    • Go over equipment, experiences, stories, and learn how a PBR event is put on
    • The Rodeo will run a bull (a real one!) into the chutes, the PBR bull riders will show us how they put their rope on the bull and get ready to ride
    • Stock contractors will go over their procedure to show how they get their bulls ready
    • We’ll each receive a custom-made, official Deadwood PBR T-shirt and swag bag
    • A book signing booth will e provided for the authors of the Rider Relief Fund 2018 fundraising anthology
    • We’ll wander to our Premium Box Seats on the main grandstand side of the ring, outfitted with brand new stadium seats. Best view in the house!
    • Immediately after the Rodeo ends we board the bus to the No. 10 Saloon
    • Dinner is served in the Charles Utter Theater above the No. 10 Saloon
    • Dinner Entertainment brings us some of the best the PBR has to offer for an after-event talk show, including a fabulous lineup of PBR bullfighters, commentators, and entertainers
    • After dinner, we’ll head downstairs to the No. 10 Saloon to kick up our heels during the official afterparty of the Deadwood PBR, or for a quieter time, head outside onto the upstairs Social Club Patio for a nightcap

Wild Book Reading at Wild Bill Bar from 7 PM – Way Past Your Bedtime (NOTE! This event is taking place at the same time as the Rodeo)

  • We’ll meet at Wild Bill Bar 624 Main St, Deadwood and head upstairs to our own private floor which has been lovingly restored as a Victorian theater with bistro tables
  • Enjoy a cash bar and desserts (the sweets are sponsored by our generous authors and local businesses)
  • Authors will read their favorite scenes from their books
  • Cost: $10.00, refunded to you as a Golden Ticket at the door, which covers the cost of your first cocktail

After you register, be sure to come back to this page and reserve your hotel room. We have an amazing price of just $164* per night, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 7, 8, and 9. You can also book room nights before and after those days at the same low rate.

UPDATE May 16, 2018 – we have just released our reserved rooms, but ROOMS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!

*The small print: Hotel rates are subject to a $2.00 per room per night occupancy tax and applicable local lodging taxes of (8.5%) but the hotel is WAIVING THE $12.95 PER NIGHT RESORT FEE FOR US**! That’s because they are so excited to have us at their beautiful, grand hotel. **More small print: When you book your room, the price will include the Resort Fee, but when you are in Deadwood, the hotel will credit the amount from your bill at checkout. (We have it in writing!)
