Saturday Wild Reading at Wild Bill Bar
From book production and technical writing to research and romance
A self-described nerd and lover of science, Linda Rae spent many years as a published technical writer specializing in 3D graphics workstations, software and 3D animation (her movie credits include SHREK and SHREK 2). An interest in genealogy led to years of research on the Regency era and a desire to write fiction based in that time.
A fan of action-adventure movies, she can frequently be found at the local cinema. Although she no longer has any fish, she follows the San Jose Sharks. She makes her home in Cody, Wyoming.
Cheryl Yeko is an award winning, multi-published author and lives in Wisconsin with her husband Patrick. She loves to read, play piano, and spend time with family and friends. She enjoys novels with fast-paced action and steamy romance, protective alpha men and strong heroines. Cheryl belongs to several writing groups, and is a member of Romance Writers of American (RWA), as well as the Wisconsin Chapter. Cheryl is also an Acquisitions Editor for Soul Mate Publishing. As an Editor, she welcomes Romantic Suspense, Paranormal, Sci-Fi, Contemporary, and Erotica. Cheryl is thrilled to be able to add author/editor to her resume and would love to hear comments from readers.
Lea is a busy mom of 2 boys. She lives in the sometimes cold sometimes warm Midwest. Lea started writing as a teenager, but …then stopped for a long time. She just recently started back up again as a way to express her thoughts and feelings. As Lea began to share very slowly some of her work, she received more and more positive feedback. Lea is very excited for the opportunity to now share her work with all of you.
I’m a self-proclaimed nerd with a passion for all things reading and writing. When I’m not writing or attending author events, I work full time for the court system. Although originally from Michigan, I spent most of my formative years in the Chicago area. I finally ended up in Watertown, South Dakota and stayed when I met the man I’ve been married to for 10 years. Together we have two beautiful (and funny) children. Many people describe me as bold, brash, snarky and fun-loving (they’re all true). I’m known for my clumsiness and sarcasm. I’m an introvert but I make friends easily and really enjoy having meaningful conversations with people I meet. I am an Executive Board Member for South Dakota Writes, a non-profit organization founded to support South Dakota writers on their journey.
Sandy Sullivan is a romance author, who, when not writing, spends her time with her husband Shaun on their farm in middle Tennessee. She loves to ride her horses, play with their dogs and relax on the porch, enjoying the rolling hills of her home south of Nashville. Country music is a passion of hers and she loves to listen to it while she writes. She is an avid reader of romance novels and enjoys reading Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux and Susan Wiggs. Finding new authors and delving into something different helps feed the need for literature. A registered nurse by education, she loves to help people and spread the enjoyment of romance to those around her with her novels. She loves cowboys so you’ll find many of her novels have sexy men in tight jeans and cowboy boots.
As the wife and mother of professional rodeo bullfighters, I’ve made a few trips around the proverbial arena – mainly on my knees in prayer. That’s my husband, Mike, in the clown barrel playing tag with the bull, and our son, Jake, saving a bull rider. As a photographer and journalist, I’ve enjoyed chronicling cowboy life, with credits in Prorodeo Sports News, Western Horseman, American Cowboy, and Horse and Rider. My years as a crime-beat reporter netted several journalistic awards and interlaced with inspirational articles I wrote for Power for Living, Standard, The Quiet Hour, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and other national publications. Today when I’m not working on my next cowboy romance, I teach creative writing at the community college and speak at conferences, retreats, and workshops.
Award winning author Claudia Shelton has proven herself to be a contender in the field of romantic suspense. Claudia creates a fast-paced world full of intrigue and mystery as she weaves stories of sexy alpha heroes, sassy women, and love. Her debut release, Risk of a Lifetime, was a finalist in the Daphne du Maurier (unpublished) Award for Excellence in mystery and suspense. If you like small town settings, then try Risk of a Lifetime for some lakeside adventure. But if you like your books centered in a big city where life can be a little grittier, stay tuned for the reworked release of the first book in The OPAQUE series due out late February 2018.
Maureen is a writer living on the central coast of California, specifically the wondrous Monterey Bay. Her specialty is romantic adventure stories featuring thoughtful heroines, offbeat heroes and settings that range from the Caribbean Sea to alien worlds. At the core to every story she writes are 2nd chances. In April of 2007, she nearly died. Her heart stopped and only the quick action of her husband saw her wake in a hospital bed days later, alive and completely bewildered as to what had happened. The doctors called it sudden cardiac death. Maureen now has an implanted defibrillator in case it occurs again. She was fortunate to survive and knows it. In being given a 2nd chance with her life, she dedicated herself to fulfilling the dream of being a published writer. One goal down, more to come!
