About Karen Carr
Karen Carr was born and raised in northwestern Iowa, was a partner in a family farm, and moved to Mason City where she worked at Mercy Medical Center for 32 years. She is now retired, lives in Mason City, and enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren, going to book signings and other author events.
Her most recent work has been a historical Christian fiction called A Safe Haven for Beth. This is #1 of 4 in the Safe Haven Series. The second will be published this spring 2019. She has published three children’s picture books; My Hot Air Balloon, Littlest Penguin, and The Many Hats of Jeremiah Porter; a cozy mystery Mystery at Burr Oak: A Dog Named Wang; Threads, An Anthology of Shorts Stories and Poems; two stories in anthologies:A Needle in a Haystack and The Christmas Stories.
A new children’s picture book is now being illustrated at Guardian Angel Publishing. This book is co-authored by her youngest granddaughter, Piper. It is What’s That Strange Noise. Also, A Daisy for Sarah will be coming through GAP.
